Have you ever experienced yoga retreat trip in Japan?
In this summer, I went to Kawazu on yoga retreat trip. It’s my first Yoga retreat trip and I really enjoyed it. I’ts the note about the trip.
Kawazu is in Shizuoka Prefecture. It takes about 2 hours to come to Kawazu from Tokyo in Limited Express Odoriko.
Odoriko means “a dancer”. The train “Limited Express Odoriko” named after famous novel “Izu no Odoriko” written by Kawabata yasunari , the Nobel Prizener. Kawazu is the town that was the setting for the novel.
I stayed at Guest House Surya, the guest house with full of hospitality. Before you come, I recommend that you discuss in detail with the guest house owner what you want to do on your retreat trip.
The summary of this note ・Yoga retreat trip is really fun and relaxing. ・My retreat trip costs about 35,000 yen including transportation expenses. ・Kawazu is the good place that has the beautiful sea, the hot spring, and the seven waterfalls.
- 10:00AM Depart from Tokyo to Kawazu
- 12:00AM Arrive at Kawazu, and have a lunch
I went to the soba shop near from Kawazu station. The soba was delicious. Kawazu is famous for wasabi. You can enjoy Japanese food.
- 1:00AM Walk around the station
From Kawazu station, you can walk to the beach. The sea was really beautiful. I enjoyed Japanese summer.
After my stroll, the guest house owner picked me up and drove me to the guest house. We talked about how to spend my trip. I told her that I want to Yoga outside. She suggested yoga by the seaside.
- 6:00PM Yoga by the seaside
It was amazing experience! The evening sea breeze felt so good. I tried Sun Salutation, Lion Pose facing the sea, and Wild Thing Pose. After Corpse Pose, the moon came out. Then I had a delicious dinner prepared by the guesthouse owner, and went to a hot spring.
- The following day
I went to the seven waterfalls which is popular sightseeing spot. You can enjoy the magnificent seven waterfalls nurtured by a volcano. The large amount of water splash and the roar will heal you.
